Standout Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson is facing a 10-game suspension for a second violation of the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, according to published reports.
Johnson is appealing the penalty. It isn’t known when the NFL will make a formal announcement of any discipline.
Johnson was previously suspended for four games in 2014 due to a PED violation.
The 26-year-old Johnson has excelled for the Eagles since being drafted with the fourth overall selection in the 2013 NFL draft. He has started all 44 games in which he has played.
Johnson signed a five-year, $56.2 million contract in the offseason that made him the highest-paid right tackle in the NFL.
